In the first NASCAR playoff race of 2022, Kevin Harvick’s race car caught fire. The fire started coming through the dash and caused the driver to stop his car and get out. The cause for the fire was unknown. He didn’t crash or something like that, Kevin blamed the race car and cheap parts. Kevin’s frustration with NASCARs leadership on the safety of this new car is growing, multiple times in the last year Kevin has spoken out about this race car.
I remember when Dale Earnhart Sr lost his life in a race at Daytona in 2001. After losing Dale, NASCAR make saftey a number 1 priority. Kevin Harvick lived through that as he replaced Dale Earnahrd at the next driver of the #3 car all those years ago. It sounds like Kevin doesn’t think that NASCAR has the right focus on safety right now with the issues that are happening with this car.
