Caitlin Clark has made WNBA history during her rookie season by breaking the league’s single-season assist record. In a game against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark surpassed both Courtney Vandersloot and Alyssa Thomas to take the top spot for most assists in a season. She entered that game just three assists away from surpassing Vandersloot and five assists shy of beating Thomas’ all-time record. By the end of the match, Clark had racked up nine assists, solidifying her new record of 321 assists with an average of 8.4 assists per game(

Earlier in the season, Clark also broke the WNBA rookie record for assists, which was previously held by Ticha Penicheiro in 1998. The record-breaking moment came during Indiana’s game against the Seattle Storm, though there was some confusion over the exact number of assists due to inconsistencies in the historical data. Nonetheless, Clark’s performance has continued to set her apart as one of the league’s premier playmakers(
