In Game 2 of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs, the Indiana Fever fell to the Connecticut Sun 87-81, resulting in their elimination from the postseason. Caitlin Clark, the AP Rookie of the Year, delivered an impressive performance with 25 points and 9 assists, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Connecticut’s balanced attack.

The Fever started strong, building a 14-6 lead in the first quarter. However, the Sun responded with an 11-0 run to take a 17-14 lead, setting the tone for a closely contested game. Clark was key in keeping Indiana in the fight, helping the Fever reclaim the lead multiple times in the second half. Her clutch three-pointer put Indiana ahead 71-70 late in the fourth quarter, but Connecticut’s DeWanna Bonner and Marina Mabrey responded with crucial baskets down the stretch to seal the victory.

Alyssa Thomas led the Sun with 19 points and 13 assists, while Indiana’s Aliyah Boston contributed 16 points and 19 rebounds. Despite Clark’s efforts, the Sun’s defensive tenacity and timely shooting allowed them to advance to the semifinals(
