7-Time NASCAR Champion Jimmy Johnson to Retire

The Associated Press is reporting Jimmy Johnson will retire to focus on his family.

Johnson is currently running in the IndyCar Series.

The long time NASCAR driver won a historic best 7 Championships in NASCAR, matched only by Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.

Johnson is often seen at the race track with his wife and daughters. Johnson said he doesn’t have a agenda for 2023, it is a blank piece of paper. He is going to focus on life-planning with the kids. He has mentioned they love Colorado and want to spend time there.

He short IndyCar adventure has been humbling, he has seen the success he had in NASCAR where is an all-time great.

NASCAR in the works?

Johnson has indicated he may be entertaining the idea of doing “The Double” – the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.
